home

Well, I am back.

Up at 5 am for flight from Edinburgh. Three hour layover at Heathrow. Delay leaving, delay arriving. Hourlong wait for shuttle home from O'Hare.

What's up?

FĂ ilte dhachaidh

It's totally unpronounceable to me, but Welcome Home.

I don't know that one either, and I can pronounce some Gaelic.

Thanks!

The first word sounds a lot like "failed ya". Two syllables, though, and with a t instead of a d.

That's from my Scots and Gaelic Words book, I bought. The other one's not in there. Is it Irish Galic? My book has Deireadh, which is "jayrugh".
