So a while back, Les mentioned, on his facebook, about something weird from Dr Who, that I didn't get. Shortly thereafter, Cyn and I went to watch the next episode in our Dr Who DVD set. When I came back to facebook and saw Les's post again, I got it. He had referenced that very episode!

Today, we got Season 5 in the mail. I discovered that there are some crucial episodes missing from it, so I set out to find out why. In my readings on Wikipedia about goings on in the series in the last few years, I discovered the fact that David Tennant married a guest on the show, who happened to be the daughter of Peter Davison, a previous Doctor.

And then Les reposted an image that humorously illustrates this very fact... linky

Time travel is messed up...

Almost sounds like one of your family reunions. ;-D

Because I missed the episodes with Peter Davison as the doctor, I still think of him as James Herriot's younger brother Tristan, from All Creatures Great and Small.

Sadly there are only about 3 stories featuring the 5th Doctor on Amazon (free if you have Prime), or two on Netflix--both of them have the story where he becomes the 6th Doctor.

I like the highwayman in The Visitation--and the joke at the end is cute.

Even without Prime, the downloads are only a couple bucks each. I just need to figure out how to get them to the TV. Sounds like my best bet is to burn them to a DVD, but I'll have to figure out what software I need.

OMG! I recognized him from somewhere but did not remember where! I LOVED All creatures great and small, both in print and on telly.

I may have a time-head.

BUT WHY ARE THERE MISSING EPISODES???

There are five episodes that are between season 4 and season 5. Those episodes do not appear on the DVD sets for those seasons. We just got S5, and it starts out with a regular episode with the eleventh Doctor. It took me a while to find out where the regeneration episodes were. They're on a separate DVD. The David Tennant Special Episodes or something like that.

So they're not actually *missing*. They're just missing from where I expected to find them. And the DVD is $70, or some crap like that. So now I've got to figure out how to download them and get them to DVD, or, worse yet, watch them streaming.

Yeah, my daughter does something with converting television shows to some format that can be watched on the computer without streaming. I have no idea what it is, she just loads them on my computer and I can watch whatever. Of course most are on the busted PC, not the laptop.

*sigh* I MISS firefly and serenity.
