On May 18, as I previously posted about, I went to Page. I drove past the dam and through town to Lower Antelope Canyon. I got a photo pass and started down with a tour group.

This is the entrance. A narrow slot begins in the wash. You step down into it, and where it really drops is a ladder/stair.

Four or five other photographers hung back with our tripods, while the tour group went on ahead.

It was an amazing place.

But it started to rain, so they ushered us out.

This is looking down the canyon from the stairs that go back up.

Fortunately, since I was only down there an hour, so they comped me another hour if I wanted to come back. So after visiting the Dam and Horseshoe Bend, I did.

Yes it does! Most of the slot canyon photos you've ever seen were taken at Antelope Canyon, though most of those were at Upper, while this was Lower. Less crowded.

Yes. There's a $5 permit fee to enter the reservation, and $20 for the tour. They run guided tours (every half hour, I think), but if you have an SLR and a tripod, you can get a photo pass, and wander around by yourself for up to two hours.
