They do a couple of tastings a year, which I usually go to. Also, they all go the Highland Games a couple of times a year, which I attend if I can. Also, my dad always invites us to their summer picnic, because it's at his house. I've met them once or twice in other situations. that is, Scotch tastings.

I only recently learned what they do at their meetings. Every month they get some sort of expert to talk about something. It's usually a member who talks about his hobby, like antique gunsmithing, or rare books. All this time my dad had hoped I'd join, but only on the strength of "you should join us, it's fun!"

I don't really have time for it, but the events are not exactly mandatory.
