what we did today

We were watching the weather last week. After a cool spell, it warmed up throughout the week, breaking 70° by saturday. The forecast for today was warm, with a cold front coming through later at night. We figured the day would be the last good weather for the year, plus the fall colors are at their peak, so I took the afternoon off work, and we drove north to have a look.

We climbed the hill, and then climbed the tower.

We took a mile-and-a-half hike.

No, I did not tweak the color on any of these.

But maybe the camera did.

The day was warm, humid and cloudy. Every once in a while, a bit of sun would break through.

More than yellow, I'd call that gold...really really gold. It's gorgeous! Like I told Cyn, I have to live Fall vicariously through you guys. It just doesn't happen in that glorious way here and I miss it.

Did you have to yield to any horses?
:D

There was even a sign on our trail that told us to slow down and watch for horses. How much slower did we need to go to see horses? But no, there weren't any. Being a monday, it was a fairly quiet day.
