The deepest part of the Atlantic Ocean is just north of Puerto Rico and The Virgin Islands in the Puerto Rico Trench. Specifically, it is the Milwaukee Deep, which was named after the USS Milwaukee, which discovered it in 1939. 28,232 feet (8605m).
